I’m sure many of you might have heard a magical incantation, Abracadabra. The fairy says it when she does conjouring to transform Cinderella’s clothes into a nice dress. The meaning of the word can be translated to “I will create as I speak.” One of my buddy introduced this app called “Abracadabra – the game” the other day(interestingly the same name as the incantation) and GEEEEEZ… This game has been stimulating my will to win since day one. I don’t think the app has anything to do with Cinderella but the name and itsstory mighthave been stemmedfrom the worditself.

Abracadabra is available for iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad, and just outta curiousity I wonder how it would be if I played this game with iPad . The size of the app is 11.2 MB which is fair enough for a game, and is in English. It, however, doesn’t require high-level English skills to play at all. Just so you know, this isn’t a complicated game where you gotta squeeze your brain but rather it is just a simple time killer(later it becomes more than just a time killer, and you will see XD).

Loading Screen

Just so you know, I did a little bit of Photoshop work on picture A to make it kinda stand out doh, and the loading screen only takes like a second. The story goes that a man and a woman, who have been set up on a blind date, face unforeseen situations of their own.

A : Main Screen B : The Story of the Acne Girl

I think the whole illustration reminds me of my dearly buddy Phil in Canada for some reason. Well, as you are already looking, the picture A is the main screen you get with a nice background music, and there are some options to choose; Best Record(allows you to view

top 4 records of each game), Options(allows you to turn on/off Sound and Vibration) and i(information / help). First off, if you tap the girl on the main screen, the next thing you’ll see is a girl being freaked out by looking at herself in the mirror. She’s in a situation where she’s gotta get ready for a blind date but sees her face covered with a countless number of nasty zits.

Okay, you’ll get this actual screen which you can play the game once you tap on the story(anywhere on the screen). I’ve kinda divided into 3 sections to give you an instruction. A zit pops up randomly on her face. It first pops up in red and it turns yellow which means it’s festered. Soon as it turns yellow, you gotta double tap the zit. The zit disappears if you succeed, and if not it turns black. Letting a zit turn black is equivalent to losing a life at a time(out of 5 Hearts).

As you can see, you get 5 hearts(lives) as you start, but you’ll lose one heart everytime you miss double tapping the zit or let it turn black,andshe screams like some rowdy woman(I couldn’t comeupwithan appropriate example).

A : Game Over B : Grades

The game’s over. You’ll get this screen when you run of hearts, and you get this screen where you get grades. There are 5 different grades and you need to last as long as possible to get a higher score. Btw, that isn’t my real score guys. I mean for real….. If you think you’ve got a decent score, tap on Save Record. I often try again to beat my own record in Scurfy Man(which I still suck at… I haven’t saved any in Acne Girl yet) and this is where my strong will to win starts to burn XD  Let’s tap the Menu to go back to the main screen.

I’ve never been on a blind date but I can understand how embarrassing it would be to find myself in that very situation. This guy has already arrived at the restaurant and finds his back and shoulder covered with full of drandruff.

Likewise, the game starts with a sign; Ready / Start. This time, it isn’t about double tapping on a spot. The instruction is to sweep out dandruff to left and right, and if you miss sweeping out 1 piece of dandruff(sounds awkward) 1 heart will be taken away. Dandruff gotta be swept out before it reaches the bottom of the screen.

A : Instruction B : Game Over

As you can see on picture A, dandruff starts to drops down from his head and shoulder. I’ve put an yellow centre line and two arrows to help you understand(Don’t misunderstand, you won’t see the line and arrows in the game). Whatever drops from this right shoulder, sweep them out to the right side of the screen, and vice versa. Just to give you a heads-up, dandruff doubles when he scratches his head with one hand, and triples with both hands(It becomes chaotic. See it for youself).

A : Grades B : Saving your name

There are also 5 grades with 5 different hilarious illustrations, and if you are confident with your grade, you may as well type in your nameand saveyour recordto SHOWOFF(Iknow you won’t….)Try to lastas longas you can!

AND YES! THAT’S ME RIGHT THERE! hahaha (sigh….) This is the best grade I’ve ever got so far. It drives me nuts when dandruff doubles and triples. You’ll understand once you get to play. Hope you have fun with the game! “Abracadabra! Let these to love!” Sound cheesy…. sigh… Anyways…. You think it’s just a time killer? Oh contraire.
